Changing seasons

My family really enjoyed the nice weather this last weekend. We played outside, a lot. My husband and I took a bike ride. The oldest and I walked to the park and shot hoops. We all gathered around the fire pit for awhile and threw some balls around the backyard.

When it was time to come inside for the night to eat supper and get ready for bed because there was school in the morning, emotions were everywhere. Plus, we just had DST the night before, and we all new this next week was going to be less than ideal for outdoor activities.

It got me thinking about the changing seasons of the weather and of our lives.

We can get a couple of perfect weather days or things seem to be going perfectly in our lives and then the next day, it’s like it’s almost completely opposite.

At least with the weather we were a little prepared and knew today wasn’t going to be as great. With our lives, we can be blindsided by the bad days.

And I’m not sure which way I like better. I mean, sure if you know, you can be prepared. But if you don’t know, you can also still enjoy the rest of the good weather day without worrying or being disappointed in what the next day will bring. You can live in the moment and not worry about what tomorrow will bring.

Do you prefer to know and be prepared? Or live in the moment and enjoy what is here now without the worry of what is to come?
