Through the last 5 years, I have learned a lot about shifting my mindset. Looking at things from a different perspective. I’ve read books on mindset including Shift Happens by Dr. Robert Holden.
One of my biggest takeaways is instead of asking “why is this happening to me?” I ask myself “what can I learn from this?”
That simple shift has kept me from going into victim mindset and allows me to learn what lesson it’s teaching me and puts a positive outlook on it.
Another technique that has helped me shift my mindset is using preframing, reframing and post framing. Which now that I’m typing this out, the above takeaway is part of this technique.
Before going into a situation, preframe it by asking what is my ideal outcome?
When the situation throws you curveballs, reframe and ask how you can go about it differently.
After the situation, ask what you learned from the situation? What would you do differently if this situation were to happen again?
What techniques do you use to shift your mindset?
